Christina Rosenvinge presents her literary debut in Malasaña and you can't miss it.
Christina Rosenvinge has been rummaging through her personal and musical memory to give shape to this precious work, her first book: 'Debut. Cuadernos y canciones', published by Literatura Random House, which has been in bookstores since March 28th. The singer-songwriter will be talking on Wednesday April 3rd at 19 h in our hostel with the journalist and writer Laura Fernandez and the writer Belen Gopegui, surrounded by all friends who want to come and not miss this explosive meeting. One, or all three of them will recite lyrics of their songs.
If you are a follower of her songs and above all, of her lyrics, her first book is waiting for you in bookstores and also in Bastardo!

This book crosses the literary, musical and artistic references that have influenced the work of the singer-songwriter and closes the volume 'La palabra exacta', an essay on the secrets of basting lyrics and melody in the sung verse.
A song evokes the time when we discovered it. To the one who has written it, it returns to the precise moment in which it was created. Her texts portray the intimacy of those quiet days between tours in which apparently nothing happens and in reality everything is happening. They are also testimonies of a career that has crossed decades, borders and styles with an incorruptible lucidity.

More about Christina Rosenvinge
Spanish singer-songwriter, composer and actress with international projection. A teenage pop icon in her early days, she has become a reference in independent pop rock with fans of all ages. In 2018 she was awarded the Premio Nacional de las Músicas Actuales and more recently her new album, 'Un hombre rubio' has received the MIN Award for best pop album.
"The path that leads to the deepest part of our memory is made of melodies and smells. They are threads that do not go outwards, but towards the centre of a warm and welcoming cave that we recognise as our own. Some of these threads bring me back to moments of quiet happiness that the stupid memory would insist on erasing if they weren't stuck to the electric spark of a song''.

Why has my brain decided that it is worth preserving so many details of those innocuous scenes, in which I am almost always alone, and not others connected to much more important life moments? How is music interwoven with my survival as an animal? While someone answers me, I am going to entertain myself by pulling the thread of some songs to see where they take me. Sometimes it's the exact moment I wrote it, and sometimes it's the day I recorded it with the circumstances surrounding that recording.
I keep some workbooks to complete the reconstruction. What happens once the song is recorded is blurred. Once edited, the song ceases to be mine - the evocative charge is complete for me - and becomes that of others, who come to tell me years later that this or that song is interwoven at a certain moment in their lives. It gives me great satisfaction to know that these songs have become entangled in them as well."

In Bastardo we are all ears for music and you also know that we devour literature. So, Rosenvinge's visit to Bastardo is a luxury because she perfectly mixes lyrics and music and this book looks like a delight.
Are you here to see what her first book is all about? We look forward to seeing you at the signing and presentation of 'Debut.
