Do you love myths and legends? We at Bastardo Hostel love them. If you are curious about these stories you can not miss our meeting of Russian voices that on this occasion will make us tremble with Slavic folklore. So spread the word and gather your coven of trust because these stories it are to die.
Cuna Literaria lands again in Bastard to make known and revive the most feared, beloved and known figure of Slavic folklore: BAYA YAGÁ. Wild Goddess, Mother, Witch... the one who knows, the giver of life, the lady of the beasts and the forests in the cycle of life-death-life.
The following characters will amaze us with this story so common in Russia that surely more than one will get us goose bumps or just be intrigued. Discover the life and work of these four writers and dancer.

Margaryta Yakovenko (Ukraine, 1992)
Is a journalist specializing in international politics and a writer. She has published in newspapers such as La Opinión de Murcia and El Periódico de Cataluña. For the last three years, she has been the editor of PlayGround magazine. She has published the story 'No queda tanto' in the feminist anthology Cuadernos de Medusa II.

Alejandro Morellón. Spanish writer
With his book of short stories 'El estado natural de las cosas' (Caballo de Troya, 2016) he won the prestigious Gabriel García Márquez Hispano-American Short Story Prize in 2017. His stories have appeared in magazines such as Quimera, Prosa inmortal, Eñe or Energehia.

Camila Velarde (Venezuela, 1989)
Is an actress, dancer and dance teacher. Trained in classical dance in Venezuela, she began her journey in contemporary dance with a scholarship at the old and emblematic dance centre in Madrid, Karen Taft. At the same time, she was trained as an actress in the Interpretation Method study of Madrid and studied a degree in philosophy at the UAM.

Maksim Zaitsev (Россия, 1996)
Is a musical delirium that will make you dance non-stop. You know their songs, we know it; enjoy and let yourself go. This duo of tiparracas has been in the Madrid underground and queer festivals all over Spain since 2015. Blessed by glitter, they cross themselves in front of the mixing board and give way to an existential madness in which any genre is welcome.
In Russia, her name awakens childhood memories, smiles and a feeling of ambiguity. Who is she really? The writer and journalist Margaryta Yakovenko will be our special guest to co-present together with Cuna Literaria this atypical tribute and vindication of the figure of Baba Yagá through a very particular literary-folkloristic-feminist-musical remix:
1. MUSSORGSKY's musical piece inspired by Baba Yagá and belonging to the Cuadros suite in an exhibition. The dancer Camila Velaverde will give us a very special surprise in relation to this musical piece.
2. Stellar appearance of the writer ALEJANDRO MORELLÓN, who will delight us with the reading of his story, 'La Señora de los Tumores', inspired by Baba Yagá and published in the fanzine Hijos de Sedna.
3. After party with a special DJ Session by Tiparracas DJ. With the rhythm of Baba Yagá and cocktails at affordable prices that will make this night a very particular party.
4. For more information, registration and/or assistance write to cunaliteraria@gmail.com or visit www.cunaliteraria.com
