# Date: April 27th
# Time: 20.00h
The dance takes over Bastardo with the play Body vs Color. Meet the dancers Barbara Fritsche and Guto Ajayu next April 27th in our hostel located in Malasaña, the most artistic neighborhood. As Bansky once said: "Art must comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable."
What happens when two worlds collide? What happens when the invisible becomes visible? Two arts and three artists with different origins (Bolivia, Italy, Germany) who share space and time to meet and communicate through their body (dance), form and color (painting).
Two inertias that enter into dialogue about what happened in the past, what happened in the present, reacting and listening to the silence of each one. The artistic proposal is born from the need to fuse contemporary dance with live painting and create a dialogue between these two different ways of expressing oneself and seeing the world.
contemporary dance
Two arts, which in themselves are silent, but at the same time capable of stirring and creating internal noise. During the performative exhibition these two worlds meet and collide, inspire and feedback, and finally end up in perfect symbiosis having shared an instant creation. The result is unpredictable, open - the spontaneous is given place. The public can experience in the moment a unique process of creation between painting and movement, between colour and body.
Painter
Guto Ajayu (Augusto Mendoza), creator of the style called "ARTE ANDINO POP", which presents the dialogue between Andean pre-Columbian symbolism together with elements of pop art and urban art through the application of bright colors and ironic and irreverent messages in the artist's work.
He graduated in Fine Arts with Sculpture speciality, U.M.S.A. (San Andrés Major University) La Paz-Bolivia. Bachelor of Fine Arts with specialty in Sculpture in the U.M.S.A. (Universidad Mayor de San Ándres) La Paz-Bolivia. He has been working in Madrid since 2017.
Interpreters
Jessica Russo began studying dance at the Latin-American Dances School when she was only 4 years old. In 2010 she will study in Rome with Paola Scoppettuolo, and in the company Aleph, and in 2011 she will be trained in Professione Mas Dance LAB under the direction of Ludmill Cakall.
In 2014, during the Alto Jonio Dance Festival in Italy, she studied with director Antonio Pio Fini, Michael Mao, Sara Caballero, George Postelnicu and Virginie Mécène (Director of the company Martha Graham II - New York). In this festival she won scholarships for a Summer Intensive at the Paul Taylor New York Dance Company and a scholarship at the Martha Graham School in New York. In September 2014 she joined as a face-to-face dancer.
Bárbara Fritsche, choreographer, dancer and teacher of Contemporary Dance, currently living in Madrid. She was born in Germany, with Polish roots. In 2002 she graduated in Dance from the "Palucca Schule Dresden" (Hochschule für Tanz) and decided to move to Madrid with a DAAD Scholarship to continue her studies and deepen her artistic experience. She is the creator of the Barbara Fritsche Dance Project, an artistic dance project that consists of the collaboration of different artists of contemporary dance, theatre, video dance and performance.
The purpose of this project is to work and share experiences with dancers and contemporary artists in a creative and innovative environment. To connect through a research process to create a community of artists and professionals with their own language: emotional, provocative, enveloping, raw, physical, and always human.
His last piece 'Vasos llenos' was premiered in September 2018 at the Festival 'Un lugar donde compartir' Sanchinarro, Madrid.
