We're back with another edition of our Vermouthfunk! Have a great time with our mid-morning concerts while enjoying good music and drinks with your friends. Our hostel in Malasaña always has something to offer so you don't get bored in Madrid. What more could you ask for?
Miguel Osa will visit us next Sunday 24th March to share with us a concert, on guitar and vocals, in which he will sing us songs from his first album, "Lo que nunca te dije" (What I never told you) and give us a preview of some of the songs that will form part of his second album, which he will present this year, under the title "El precio de la memoria" (The price of memory).
The singer-songwriter of Leganés comes to Bastardo after touring much of the Spanish geography, giving concerts in legendary halls such as La Tertulia in Granada, La Sala, Café de arte and La Señora Pop in Seville, El Búho in Tenerife, La Otilia y Echarle huevos en Gran Canaria, Toma 3 en Gijón, La Sala Trampa en Palma de Mallorca, Kafcafé en Valencia, Libertad 8, Fnac La Gavia, La Fídula, Clamores, Jazzville, El pez eléctrico, El Calvario, El Martínez Bar, La Dog&Roll and Café de Ruiz in Madrid.
In his songs, the singer-songwriter not only appeals to love, but also opens a window to self-discovery and self-criticism, with lyrics that excite and make you think. Continuing with this line of thought, Miguel Osa published his first book Guía para corazones sin cabeza in 2016. In this tailor's box, the author mixes poetry with poetic prose in which he seeks to awaken sensibilities and highlight the exceptional of what we consider everyday.
It is a necessary reflective stop to catch air in an accelerated world, destined to listen to us and ask us questions about our own perception and what we expect of ourselves. It had the collaboration of the philologist Macarena Tabacco Vilar and the poetess La Chica Metáfora.
In his concerts, Miguel Osa perfectly spins songs and texts, making each concert a different experience in which he invites the spectator to disconnect with the world around them, to focus on the now and meet again with their concerns and expectations taking advantage of the absence of noise.
If there is one thing that defines Leganés' singer-songwriter, it is his idea that "Great dreams make great people". With no record label or media support to rely on, only with the perseverance of those who believe in his project and fight for their dreams, Miguel Osa is fortunate to have great musicians, nationally recognized, who accompany him and record with him in their projects.
Musicians of the stature of Javier Arpa, Mario Carrión, Julio Martín, David Sancho, Dani Moreno, Esperanza Martín, Elba Puerta, Marta Mansilla or Guillermo Berlanga have collaborated with the singer-songwriter. He also has the support and respect of renowned singer-songwriters who have given him the opportunity to share songs and stages such as Marwan, Fran Fernandez, Vicky Gastelo, Fito Mansilla, Gema Hernandez, Rash and Israel Del Amo, among others.
Miguel Osa has worked with great professionals in the recording of his albums such as José De Castro "Jopi", Iván Dominguez and Kike Eizaguirre. Another aspect to highlight in the editorial line of the singer-songwriter is that he avoids resorting to his image in the cover designs of records or books. He has the collaboration of the illustrator and designer Ana Moyano, who shapes Miguel Osa's artistic expectations through his unmistakable designs.
The creative connection between the singer-songwriter and the illustrator is total, giving meaning to the singer's idea that he alone is a mere conductor of sensations and that the ego or ephemeral image of his portrait should not be the center of attention, since art will survive us all and is above ourselves.
With a view to the release of their second album, the videoclip of the single "Febrero" is now available on Youtube. This video clip stars the Valladolid actress Clara Parada and the singer-songwriter. It was co-directed by Victor Hugo Martín Caballero and Sara Bamba, and co-produced by Helsinki, Plan Secreto, Visual Creative and Elora. Both the first album, "Lo que nunca te dije" and that single are available on Spotify.
It's time for vermouthfunk!
