Losing the keys is a thing of the past. When you check in online you will receive an email with your QR code. It will help you to open your room and kitchen, and for breakfast and parking services if you have decided to enjoy them. You can use the QR as a passbook, screenshot, from the mail, print it... whatever you prefer. If you want, we'll print it for you, don't worry about running out of battery.

You didn't arrive on time for your check-in?

If you know you won’t arrive on time for your check-in we need you to contact us by email or WhatsApp in order to keep your reservation. You have until 08:00 of your next day of arrival to do so or we will cancel your booking and charge your reservation restrictions accordingly and in consequence we can’t guarantee space if you arrive later.

How many nights can you stay with us?
You can stay a maximum of 20 nights, because every relationship has a beginning and an end.

I´m going with friends and we want to be in the same room.
Welcome to Bastard! If you want to make sure you share the room with your friends and/or family you can book a full room. We have something for everyone: 6, 4 and 3 people. We will also include towels.

What are the differences between a private room of 4 people and a shared room of 4 people?

The private rooms of 4 people, also called family rooms, have one big bed for two people of 150cm and another two smaller ones for just one person. This room is specifically thought of for families who just want to rest peacefully and in a closer environment.

On the other hand, shared rooms consist of 4 individual beds. Not really the same, isn’t it?

And of course,  both options have a bathroom and private shower inside the room.

We´re 5, can we get a room for ourselves of 6 or do we need to share it with more people?

If you guys are 5 like The Jackson 5 or Spice Girls and you don´t  feel like adding any new group members, we understand it. This is why you guys will need to make a reservation for a room of 6 for the 5 of you and no individual beds. This way you will make sure your room is only for your group. It is better to have a spare bed than to have an intruder.

What is the Quiet Room?

Our Quiet Room is a space specifically prepared for the ones looking to finally have some peace and quiet. This is the silence room where respect for other people’s rest is fundamental which means there are different rules than in other rooms such as: silencing your digital devices and always using headphones, respecting other people’s sleeping schedule and going early to bed; no talking on the phone inside the bedroom.

Is there space to keep the backpack/suitcase in the rooms?
You can store your things and enjoy Madrid light of luggage. All beds have a generously sized drawer that you can lock with your padlock. Remember to bring one.

What are the dimensions of the drawers?
Room 6: 6 drawers 67x67x21 cm.Room 4: 2 drawers 67x67x21 cm, 1 drawer 57x67x21 cm, 1 drawer 48x67x21 cm.Family 3: 1 drawer of 57x67x21 cm and 1 drawer of 67x57x21 cm.Family 4: 2 drawers 67x67x21 cm and 1 drawer 80x67x21 cm.

What does private bathroom mean?
Really? All our rooms have a private shower, washbasin and WC. Without having to go out to the corridor. For some things it is better to have privacy.

I don't have room in my backpack for the towel.
Don't worry, we'll rent you one for only 2,5 €. Also, it's always a good idea to leave space in your luggage in case you end up infatuated with that life-size porcelain bullfighter.

Do you have hair dryers in the rooms?

All our private and family rooms have a hairdryer inside. For the rest of the rooms, if you need one, you can ask for it at reception where we will lend you one. We will ask you to leave a deposit of 20 € which will be reimbursed after giving it back.

Can you iron your clothes in the rooms?

We know your outfit rocks best when it doesn´t have a single wrinkle, unfortunately we don´t count with ironing services for your clothes. Nevertheless, we know you´ll still be able stand out knowing how glamorous you always look!

Do you have safes inside the bedrooms?

The superior double rooms and superior double rooms with terrace do count with a safe to protect all your treasures.  Although the rest of rooms do not count with a safe in them, instead they have an individual drawer for each person which you can close with a padlock so this way all your valuable things will be safe.

In which rooms are towels provided?
You will have your towel included whenever you book a complete room (Bunk, Family or Double). If you only book one bed you have the option of renting it for 2,5 €.

Is there a kitchen?
We have a kitchen area that you can enter with your room’s QR code. It has tv, refrigerators, microwaves, oven, toaster, water kettle, vending machine…. The hat and apron are your business. The kitchen is open 24h.

Can I keep food in the fridges?
Of course, but remember that if you leave something in the fridges you have to label your things with name and check-out date.

Can I eat and drink my things in the common areas?
Yes, you can do it in the kitchen, rooftop or in your private room if you have chosen that option. The common areas on the ground floor and the terrace are reserved for you to enjoy the products from our bar and restaurant. Everything in its place.

Can I hang the clothes?
We have a dryer that you can use in the laundry. The image of clothes lying on the facades may be endearing, but Madrid law expressly prohibits it.

Can you go in and out at any time?
Of course. Fortunately, the days when your parents gave you the time are behind you. There will always be someone working to help you. Enjoy your trip with total freedom.

What if I arrive before check-in time?
It's okay. Take the plunge to explore the city. If your bed/room isn't ready yet, you can leave us your things until check-in time.

Can I do a late check-out?
Late check-out is available for an extra price as long as we have availability. However, you can always leave your things with us until you have to leave. We are here to make your life easier.

Pet friendly?
We love pets, but at the moment they won't be able to sleep with you in Bastardo.

How many nights can you stay with us?
You can stay a maximum of 20 nights.

All roads lead to Bastard. We are right in the centre of Madrid. The nearest Metro stations are Tribunal (lines 1 and 10) just 2 minutes away and Alonso Martinez (lines 4 and 5) 4 minutes away. There are many possibilities. We'll tell you a little: - A) From the airport:- 1) Metro:Take line 8 from the airport to Nuevos Ministerios. There transfer to line 10 to Tribunal. It will take you approximately 30 minutes.- 2) Taxi:In Madrid there is a closed fare of 33 € for journeys from the airport to the centre and vice versa. Calculate a 35 minute journey, but be careful with the city's rush hours (8 to 10 h and 17 to 20 h) because things could get longer up to 65 minutes. - B) Train:Travelling by train is one of life's greatest pleasures. There is a direct line from Atocha, Madrid's main station. All you have to do is take the metro line 1 to Tribunal. There are only 6 stops, only 11 minutes.

Accessibility.
We have two accessible rooms with two beds each; in each room, one of the beds is suitable for people with reduced mobility. Completely accessible bathroom. Everyone is welcome.

I'm in a car. What do I do?
If you are one of those who like to make your trip a road movie, Bastard is on your route. You can leave your car in the heart of Madrid for 29 € per night. Book in advance, places are limited.

But watch out, not just any car can get in our Hostel, this is due to our location being in downtown Madrid which is a low-emission zone, and only specific cars can access it (instructions about what type of cars can access this area are solved in the following question). So, if you don´t want to get in any trouble make sure to give us your license plate to get in our system and make sure you won´t have any problems with your car.

¿What is Madrid´s low emissions zone and how does it work in case I want to use my car?

It all comes down to the type of car you have, if you have an old car or one that contaminates a lot, it is better just to leave it home because you won´t be able to use it. On the other hand, if you have a newer car or one that is low emissions and you want to bring it, pay attention to what we´re about to tell you.

Bastardo Hostel is inside an area called low-emissions zone which is mostly in downtown Madrid, an area where not any car can get in or even just park.

Your car must have a sticker from the “DGT”(Traffic department) type 0, ECO, C or B if you don´t want to get fined. If you´re lucky and have this type of car, you´re more than welcome to use our parking. Pay attention to the following details:

  • With the 0 sticker you can freely use your car and park it.
  • With the ECO sticker you can move freely but you can only park for up to 2 hours.
  • Whit the C and B stickers you can only access the low-emission zone area if you´re going to leave your car in a parking space such as ours. If you have this type of car and you´re not going to leave it in a parking space do not go in the low emissions zone.

If your car doesn´t have a Spanish license plate, you can just leave it in the parking.

For more info about this consult Madrid’s town hall official website and look for “Madrid Zona de Bajas Emisiones (ZBE)”(Low-emissions zone).

What car measurements does the parking admit?

Our parking is the coziest place to leave your car resting and of easy access, even for little vans, but don´t get all hyped up and bring a bus, these won´t fit. The access door allows a maximum height of a 2.05-meter vehicle. The garage places have a maximum of 5 m x 2.4 m.

I´ve heard about your restaurant Limbo and how they have the best chicken in Madrid, how can I make a reservation?

Very easy, go to their website and make the reservation directly without any intermediaries: https://grupolamusa.com/en/asador-limbo-tribunal/ . But if you feel more comfortable talking to somebody you can also make a reservation by calling the following phone number: 910 74 14 95

One last thing, just because Limbo has the best chicken in the world, doesn’t mean there are no other yummy options for all palates and dietary requirements!
